About Greater Athens Properties
In
2012, Leah was awarded the REALTOR® of
the Year Award by the Athens Area Association of REALTORS®. She was
chosen out of almost 700 REALTORS® for the Board’s highest honor based on
REALTOR® spirit, civic activity and involvement, and business
accomplishments. In 2015, Leah was
awarded both the State and the Local Entrepreneur of the Year Awards by the Georgia
Women’s Council of REALTORS®. Other
awards Leah has received have been the Good Neighbor Award (2009), the Rising
Star Award (2010), the YPN Young Achievers Award (2011), and the Circle of Achievement
Award (2013-2015).
Leah is a member of the Athens Area Association of REALTOR®,
the National Association of REALTOR®, the Georgia Association of REALTOR® and
the Women’s Council of REALTOR®. She
is very involved with the Georgia Women’s Council of REALTOR® and
has served as the 2014 State President and the 2015 State Governor. She is also very involved with the Athens
Area Association of REALTOR® and is currently serving as the 2016
President of the Association. In 2013
she served as the President of the Classic MLS of the Association. In 2011 she helped charter the local FUEL
Young Professionals Network and is still actively involved. Leah is also a 2015 graduate of the Georgia
Association of REALTOR® Leadership Academy and continues advancing her
knowledge of the real estate profession by attending various conferences, classes
and earning real estate designations including the Accredited Buyer
Representative (ABR), Graduate Realtor® Institute (GRI), Short Sales and
Foreclosure Specialist (SFR), and e-PRO.
In
addition to Leah’s substantial contributions to professional organizations, she
also lends her time and talents to her community. She has served on the Board of Directors for
Keep Athens Clarke County Beautiful as the Ex-Officio for the Athens Area
Chamber of Commerce. She has served on
the Board of Directors for Athens Canine Rescue as the Foster Coordinator. While serving on the ACR board she personally
rescued 13 dogs from local animal shelters and found them forever homes. She decided to adopt #13, which is a Rottie
mix named Murray. Leah also sponsors and
supports several non-profit organizations in her community including Athens
Canine Rescue, Pride Athens, and the Upper Oconee Watershed Network. Leah’s biggest accomplishment is her commitment
to giving back to the communities in which she works by giving a portion of
every closing commission back to local charities on behalf of her clients.
