Long Beach is a diverse city with so many choices. Its history reaches back to Spanish settlement days and early California statehood. Two historic ranchos open to the public are reminder of that time.
Miles of sandy beach along the Pacific Ocean, an ideal climate with average temperature of 74 degrees, mostly sunny days--these make life so comfortable. Long Beach has its own airport, a major central downtown marinas, farmers markets, residential historic districts and many square miles of residential neighborhoods with their schools and libraries. Museums, parades, the Grand Prix, the Queen Mary and the Aquarium of the Pacific all have their home here.
There are few cities which accommodate such a wide variety of living tastes, from luxury condominiums on Ocean Blvd. to single family homes and condos in quiet residential neighborhoods anchored by their own shopping areas such as Bixby Knolls, Belmont Heights and Alamitos Heights, and Naples, to name a few.
Long Beach has many of the advantages enjoyed by some areas of Orange County, but without some of the added property taxes found there. Long Beach enjoys the property tax rate found throughout the state.
This city is a destination for many because of its proximity to other major commercial business areas in both Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Its affordability and choice of housing is not to be found in other coastal cities.
