Lake Anna State Park’s  Junior Ranger Program for ages 5-12 - August 1-3, 2012    $3/day or $10/entire program Junior Ranger programs offer a fun way for kids to learn about our park.   Participants who attend all three days will receive a Junior Ranger patch and certificate during the graduation ceremony. There are three counties bordering Lake Anna in Central Virginia.  They are Louisa, Spotsylvania, and Orange Counties.  Both Louisa and Spotsylvania encompass the majority of the countryside while Orange County covers a much smaller section in the northwest area of the lake. 

This market report* lists the waterfront homes sold in all three counties surounding the lake from January 1, 2012 to March 31, 2012.

Lucky Me…Living at Lake Anna Next to a Beautiful Garden

Often when I give directions to our home I make reference to my neighbors garden next door.  They also live on the water and have chosen to garden up towards the road where the area is more open with less trees.  It apparently is the perfect spot for this purpose.  Ever since our neighbors moved down to Lake Anna to live here full time they have produced the most amazing display of flowers.

Living is good in The Waters at Lake Anna.  Located on the private side of Lake Anna, The Waters as it is commonly referred to, is the first subdivision at the lake to have a community pool and club house.  These amenities, along with the tennis courts, walking trails, and soccer field, make this a very popular spot for buyers.

Children and grandchildren alike with enjoy celebrating National Park Trust Kids to Parks Day at Lake Anna State Park.  Be sure to attend the short annual meeting and take part in the activities after.  This is a great way to make new friends or see some familiar faces.  Getting involved with your local community is one of the most satisfying things you can do.

For all of you parents and grandparents this is a chance to have an entertaining afternoon with the younger set in your family.  This certainly looks like the type of show that will be enjoyed by folks of  all ages.  That includes you!

It was really not that long ago that I shared the sad news about the loss of our beloved dog, Sam.  Now we are experiencing that sadness again.  Shortly after Sam died, two Cockapoo puppies entered our lives.  We were happy to have furry friends once again.

Internet Home Value Calculators – How Accurate Are They?

Many of us have heard stories of how off some of the “zestimates” are that proport to tell home owners the value of their homes. This is true especially in a place like Lake Anna where we take into consideration factors that go beyond the number of bedroom and baths, etc. Waterfront property especially has its own set of factors that need to be considered in determining market value.
